“One’s dignity may be assaulted, vandalised and cruelly mocked, but it can never be taken away unless it is surrendered.” Michael J Fox
Staying true to yourself can be quite challenging as we journey through the different stages of our life. People will stick you into all sorts of boxes. They may say flattering things… Or dismissive things. It doesn’t matter in the least. Let people have their opinions but never believe that you require someone else’s permission to be true to yourself. Other people’s judgements about you are none of your business, ultimately like stones in your pockets they will only weigh you down. Let other people pigeonhole you, it’s what they like to do and helps them make sense of themselves.
As WC Fields said:
“It ain’t what they call you; it’s what you answer to that matters…”
Actually, don’t even bother answering. Just keep doing your thing and invite Yoga to bring a deep self-love of acceptance into your heart.
“I’m a rose whether I’m admired or not. I’m a rose whether anyone’s crazy about me or not…”
